Panochron is experiencing unprecedented demand and growth. To manage this I have created a waitlist for studio session 8 and beyond, and for people in other regions to express their interest.
Panochron is a longitudinal documentary project that captures studio portraits and interviews with the same subjects every five to ten years.
Now entering its next chapter, Studio Session 6 invites new applicants pursuing creative careers to join the archive.
By documenting artists, musicians, and makers over decades, the project builds a visual and narrative record of a creative life in flux.
This specific studio session aims to challenge how we perceive both strangers and ourselves. By presenting portraits of creatives at different stages of life side-by-side, I want to show that the human experience, our doubts, ambitions, and evolutions, are not as disparate as we imagine.
Furthermore, the project seeks to reframe aging not as a loss of relevance, but as a beautiful accumulation of depth and character.
The goal is to foster empathy and connection within the community by revealing the common threads that run through all our lives.
Studio Session 6 is for those pursuing creative careers, if you are a artist, musician, writer, maker, or performer, and can be in Christchurch on the weekend of 27/28 June, please apply here.
Panochron is hitting the road to Lake Hāwea on the 1st and 2nd of May 2026, the very first Panochronvoyage!
Studio Session 7 is taking place on the 1st and 2nd of August at Photosynthesis, all are welcome to book at no cost to the sitter.
